In March 1996, Schafer Corporation became an employee-owned business following employee purchases of Schafer common stock from Ogden Technology Services. In February 1998, Schafer acquired from General Electric the Vallecitos operation in our Schafer Laboratories division. On October 30, 1998, Schafer purchased certain assets and assumed certain liabilities of Litton/Professional Research Consulting, Inc. related to PRC's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency SETA business.

On December 19, 2008, Schafer Corporation was acquired by Schafer Intermediate Holdings, Inc., a subsidiary of Metalmark Capital Partners (C) II, L.P. and certain other parties. Schafer continues growing and expanding our services into new technology areas to include information technology, cyber, robotics, and network communication systems and products.
