The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey offers a 10- to 12-week paid internship that provides graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to work with knowledgeable and experienced professionals on assignments related to the student's major.
As an intern with the Port Authority, you will be challenged by hands-on projects that will develop skills such as how to write effectively and how to work as part of a team. During your summer experience, you will be provided with orientation and training to support your success.
Additionally, interns with the Port Authority receive an hourly compensation that is based on their field of study and level of education. Interns with outstanding performance have moved into full-time positions within the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey upon graduation.
The Port Authority operates a broad range of trade and transportation infrastructure in the New York/New Jersey region. The diversity of our businesses creates opportunities for students to gain exposure to the work of a first class, public agency.
Management interns will typically work within one of the following departments: Audit Aviation Capital Programs Comptroller's Government & Community Relations Human Resources Management & Budget Environmental & Energy Programs Operations Services PATH Planning Port Commerce Public Affairs Public Safety Procurement Real Estate Technology Services Treasury Tunnels, Bridges & Terminals World Trade Center Redevelopment
Management Interns with the Port Authority have supported their departments with critical projects such as analyzing regional demand data for our airports, conducting job analysis and interview assessments, reviewing and analyzing our annual budget, working on sustainability initiatives, designing marketing communications, and forming operational plans for retail development. | | | | | The Port Authority seeks interns who are talented and driven, and who have a genuine interest in contributing to the success of the New York/New Jersey region.
