Continuous Improvement Project ManagerPosition Summary:
The PM will serve as the overall project leader directing cross-functional project teams to drive Operational Efficiencies and improvements. Responsible for all Operational elements of the project plan, the PM will manage and coordinate strategic project planning and execution. This individual will have direct responsibility for managing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities/projects at the business and plant level for the DMA businesses. The PM will champion Lean training events, lead lean/kaizen events as well as local and regional activities to reduce costs by eliminating waste.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management of all project phases from conception to implementation to continuous improvement.
Act as a change agent by challenging existing approaches and performance and driving the use of process improvement and lean methodologies throughout the business.
Develop and execute project strategies, goals and plans that enable operational improvement.
Objectively evaluate operational processes for non-value added activity. Responsible for all operations project details and project plans for the projects that they are assigned to. Lead site continuous improvement teams.
Manage lean activities and events for an entire facility and/or multiple facilities.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Operations.
7-10 years of operations, manufacturing management, process improvement or engineering experience in a plant that has multiple departments.
Project Management experience in a lead role with the experience and ability to work across business units in a matrixed organization to build teamwork and drive results.
Skilled change leader with a strong ability to influence and steadily generate agreements at all levels of the organization.
Must be able to present project goals, methodology and results to all levels of the organization.
Must be a disciplined problem solver with the ability to drive change at all levels of the organization.
Formal training in Lean Manufacturing or extensive experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment is required.
