Description

WGen is looking for creative Front End Developers to join our team! This is an amazing opportunity to use modern web technologies to create engaging, fun experiences for a suite of K-12 education products. From prototype to deployment, you will work with Designers and Engineers to identify patterns, develop libraries, and work with frameworks to realize clean, responsive interfaces coupled with robust front-end applications - across multiple platforms (Mobile/Tablet/Lap). If you believe form always follows function and you want to start blurring the line between native and web, this position is for you. Responsibilities of Front End Developer:

  • Work independently and with a team to create JavaScript and HTML/CSS markup and templates with a strong focus on clarity, maintainability, cross-browser compatibility and performance.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and functional specification activities, providing feedback on implementation feasibility as well as navigable prototypes/mockups
  • Develop and lead the implementation of front-end web coding and design standards, writing clear, clean, and concise code
  • Work closely with designers, artists, engineers and testers to contribute to the overall user experience
  • Stay up to date on latest trends and emerging technologies within the UI community

Basic Qualifications of Front End Developer:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years as a front-end web developer, producing professional websites and/or web applications
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating cross-browser user interfaces using object-oriented JavaScript, HTML, DOM Scripting, CSS, JSON, and XML (plus using them together as AJAX)
  • Experience with JavaScript framework such as JQuery, and Prototype

Preferred Qualifications of Front End Developer:

  • Solid programming fundamentals, and experience with Java, Python, PHP and/or Ruby, as well as source control
  • Experience with mobile device browsers.
  • Experience writing automated tests
  • Understanding of accessibility requirements
