CEVA Logistics is currently seeking a General Manager for the Waterford, NY location. The GM will be accountable for managing all aspects of a high-volume supply chain/logistics hazardous material operation to ensure consistent high level service quality and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate must possess high analytical ability, strong financial acumen and demonstrated leadership ability.
Key Accountabilities:
* Lead, direct and manage a high-volume hazardous material logistics/supply chain operation to ensure that the staff executes on delivering consistent high quality level service and customer satisfaction.
* Ensure profitable, cost efficient operations, and compliance with company policies and procedures along with ISO standards, Sarbanes Oxley requirements, and other regulatory guidelines.
* Provide leadership to maintain a strong and safe culture.
* Maximize profitability through superior customer service, effective and prompt communications and follow-up on all pending customer matters.
* Plan and monitor daily staffing schedules and adjusts accordingly to ensure adequate staffing levels that support operational demands and business objectives.
* Prepare and analyze management and financial reports, budgets, expense reports and forecasts for department.
* Ensure safety methods, practices and programs are implemented and maintained.
* Utilize superior communications skills to motivate staff and develop effective working relationships with peers, executives and clients. Candidate must not just manage, but LEAD.
* Personally coach, train and mentor direct reports and provide career development opportunities through training and quality management activities.
* Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within department and address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with CEVA personnel policies and procedures.
Knowledge Experience & Skills:
* High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.
* Demonstrated experience putting together and analyzing a P&L Budget (must be able to build and analyze P & L Budget from start to finish).
* Minimum seven years logistics or warehouse experience required with a minimum of five years in supervisory or management role.
* Knowledgeable of ISO guidelines, Sarbanes Oxley and other related government regulations required.
* Must possess demonstrated leadership skills in a logistics or manufacturing environment. Priority on leadership vs. management skills.
* Highly skilled in making customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions required.
* Experience managing warehouses/departments with hazardous materials highly preferred.
* LEAN certification preferred.
* Experience with WMS, SAP or other similar technical software a plus.
Travel
Travel is required at least 10% of the time in this position. Travel identified is approximately 100% domestic (within the United States) and approximately 0% international (outside of the United States).
