Position Description
Position Summary:
Perform duties of final and in-process inspection, packaging to specification and shipment for the division's products. Responsible for inspecting, packaging, and properly labeling all productst. Individual must read and understand work orders to determine proper product packaging specifications. Accurately record data per specification as required on work orders, quads, department log and engineering yield sheets. Individual will set up and operate various types of automatic turret rewind machines and packaging equipment. Individual should have basic computer skills and be able to operate Code Soft and THT printer label making system with a high degree of accuracy. Maintains and controls all department supplies to insure an optimal level of service
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*Set up and operate rewind table.
*Learn operation of computerized inspection equipment.
*Use scales and calipers to measure products.
*Maintain established quantity and quality levels.
*Adhere to all established quality procedures before, during, and after production runs.
*Comply with all safety and operating procedures.
*Read and understand work orders in order to determine required product packaging specifications.
*Inspect and package all products produced.
*Set up and operate bagging and packaging equipment.
*Deliver packaged products, with all required paperwork, to the Shipping Department.
*Inspect materials, products, and containers at each step of the packaging process.
*Assist in inventory procedures, as required.
*Work with team to reduce the number of errors in the department.
*Seek out ways to increase throughput in the packaging area.
*Seek out cost-saving ideas in the inspection & packaging area.
*Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
*Minimum education requirement High School Diploma or equivalent.
