SUMMARY
Paralegals who work in the Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group provide paralegal support to attorneys in the Business Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group. This position is based in the New York office. support to rneys in the Practice Group. This position wiafice.
JOB DESCRIPTION
' Assist attorneys in the representation of debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, indenture trustees, statutory committees of creditors and other parties in interest insolvency matters in and out of court;
' Familiarity with court filing procedures in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 cases;
' Draft, prepare and file monthly fee statements and quarterly fee applications, proofs of claim, notices and affidavits of service;
' Ensure compliance with Case Management Orders;
' Monitor dockets;
' Assist with Bluebooking, Cite checking, Shepardizing, proofreading and online research, including Westlaw research and case retrieval;
' Prepare hearing binders and hearing agendas;
' Assist with claims reviews and claims objections;
' Prepare audit response correspondence to client accountants;
' Assist partners and associates with electronic filings and service;
' Prepare responses to discovery requests and compile documents for analysis;
' Manage and maintain electronic and hard copy case documents and files;
' Assist with conflict review and retention pleadings;
' Analyze statements of financial affairs and review fee applications;
' Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, US trustees and noticing agents;
' Prepare case status reports;
' Digest deposition transcripts;
' Coordinate and manage retrieval of records and supporting documents from databases and courts (local, state and federal);
' Meet minimum 1500 hour annual billable requirement;
' Maintain confidentiality of client information; and
' Other duties as assigned.
HOURS
' 9:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. (1 hour lunch), with overtime as required.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED SKILLS:
' 3 or more years of creditor and debtor bankruptcy experience required
' Strong writing and editing skills
' Proficiency in standard technology tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Charts and Schedules)
' Comfortable conducting internet-based research
' Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills
' Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with or without direct supervision
' Ability to coordinate multiple projects at one time
' Flexibility for overtime and willingness to travel
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
' BS/BA degree or equivalent experience preferred;
' Paralegal certificate desirable.

' While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes required to lift equipment and/or move boxes up to 20 lbs.
