Job Summary

To Support the GE Death Processing Team by locating beneficiary forms in microfilm archives for deceased pensioners, spouses and Vestees



Responsibilities:
  • Perform Beneficiary form Location from microfilm archive records. Forms are copied to paper to support payment of death benefits to correct beneficiaries
  • Perform Social Security Compare which includes a review of Death records from the Social Security Administration (SSA) indicating the death status of GE Pensioners, Spouses and Vestees. Where a match is found (i.e. a GE Participant is Found to be reported to SSA as deceased and not previously reported to GE), Initiate processes to remove participant from GE Systems and Contact Survivors. Also provide a list to SSA for their use in comparing death records (i.e. Reported to GE as deceased and not to SSA)
  • Mail, batch and track SSA change of status death letters
  • Contact outside Vendors (Keith Murray, DSG) in an effort to locate missing survivors and beneficiaries
  • Locate archived retirement paperwork, vesting packages, death files, pension adjustments and POA paperwork


Qualifications:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • PC knowledgeable
  • Customer focused and detail oriented
  • Ability to move high volumes of work accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and be a self-starter and able to meet quotas and deadlines
  • Work well in a team environment dealing with diverse personalities
  • High School Diploma or GED
