About The Port Authority
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is a bi-state public agency operating some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the New York / New Jersey region including The Port Authority Trans Hudson Corporation (PATH), the primary transit link between Manhattan and New Jersey communities and suburban commuter railroads. The Planning and Regional Development Department currently has a need for a Project Manager/Transportation Planner.

The Planning and Regional Development Department focuses on corporate, intermodal and off-facility issues of strategic importance to the Port Authority. Within the Port Authoritys Planning and Regional Development Department, the selected candidate will:

*Build and maintain expertise in key trends (e.g. development patterns, demographic change) impacting activity on the regional transportation network
*Collect, organize, and analyze transportation and regional development data
*Conduct quick-response research and analysis on strategic issues
*Support planning studies and planning coordination activities
*Cultivate working relationships with peers at other regional transportation agencies

Eligibility Requirements:
*Four year degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, or Public Policy/Administration.
*Two years of relevant professional experience.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will present the following qualifications profile:

*Graduate degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, or Public Policy/Administration.
*Familiarity with the transportation systems, travel dynamics, and demographics of the New York/New Jersey region, as well as the institutional and financial contexts for regional transportation planning in the region
*Familiarity with transportation GIS software (such as TransCAD) and regional travel demand models (such as the New York Best Practices Model).
*Excellent and versatile quantitative analysis skills.
*Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex assignments, and to work in a fast-paced team environment on multi-disciplinary projects.
*Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
