We have an immediate opening for a Stock Lead at our Tanger Factory Outlet Center store located in Riverhead, NY. As a Stock Lead, duties and responsibilities include:
- Focusing on loss prevention to protect company assets and managing all incoming shipments
- Receiving and unloading incoming shipments and unpacking and examining goods received
- Rejecting damaged items; recording shortages; and corresponding with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
- Distributing and directing merchandise to the appropriate area and stocking shelves, racks, cases, bins and tables with merchandise
- Arranging displays according to company merchandising guidelines
- Taking periodic inventory of merchandise and checking and marking items according to company guidelines
- Providing customer service as required and assembling customer orders from stock
- Assisting the Store Manager (SM) and the Assistant Store Manager (ASM) to determine methods, procedures and best practices for maintaining an organized and efficient stock room/warehouse
- Providing guidance to other nonexempt personnel as suggested/required by the Store Manager (SM) and the Assistant Store Manager (ASM)
- Continually improving product knowledge through Sony's on-line training program and acting as a Sales Associate on the sales floor when necessary
- Additional duties may be required upon request from management
- Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or the equivalent
- A minimum of two years of previous retail experience including at least one year of stockroom/warehouse environment and 6 months of lead or management responsibilities required
- Consumer electronics retail experience is preferred
- Excellent communication/listening skills with the motivation necessary to meet customer needs is required
- Must be a results driven, team player with a positive attitude and excellent organizational skills
- Must be versatile and possess a strong ability to multi-task and complete tasks in creative and effective ways
- Must be able to work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative
- Must understand the implications of the work required/performed and able to make recommendations for solutions
- Must be able to stand/walk for extended period of times, climb a ladder (up to 20 feet), and lift 50 pounds, all with or without reasonable accommodation
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends is a must
