We are currently seeking a Senior Enhanced Outreach Worker Women's HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care Initiative to work in our Buffalo, New York Office.

Job Summary:

Responsible to assist with the coordination and implementation of a comprehensive HIV/AIDS enhanced outreach and prevention education program targeted to women of color, high risk women and women living with HIV/AIDS who are unconnected to care who reside in the City of Buffalo and surrounding areas.

Job Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field with at least three years related experience in the implementation of direct client services and the delivery of educational programs.

* Experience coordinating programs and supervision of staff/peers.

* Ability to listen, comprehend, and effectively communicate information both written and orally to individuals.

* Ability to carry out written and oral instructions independently

.* Ability to exercise good judgment in the application of professional services.

* Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and related health issues such as sexually transmitted infections and hepatitis

* Knowledge of principles of public health, techniques, behavioral science, and knowledge of community health and human service and government resources.

* Ability to work reliably and independently out in the field.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology or related field or combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of casework experience in a social service or related environment.

Management Experience: N/A

Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Collects and researches data. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Manages difficult or emotional client situations. Responds to requests for service and assistance. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment. Works with integrity and ethically; maintains confidentiality.

Other: Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Travel: May involve field work.

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements: Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential including sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.

Work Conditions: Work may be performed in various settings such as indoors, in the field or any setting that is determined appropriate to provide adequate services; with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to emergency services relief work. May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughoutchapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system. Because the Red Cross is a disaster responseorganization, staff may be asked to be on 24-hour call during period of major disaster.
