Description

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, a Senior Games Engineer will push the envelope to create cutting-edge applications. Seeking a Senior Games Engineer who can take the reins of our existing system and play a key role in delivering new transformative educational games. Join a team of top-notch engineers, game developers, visionary curriculum writers, and education reformers to create mobile games that will effect significant improvement in student performance.

Responsibilities of Senior Games Engineer:

  • As part of a cross-functional software team, you'll be commissioned with delivering new and innovative platforms, products, and/or product functions for schools, districts, and states across the country
  • Develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable, high-quality software for our wireless tablet technology platform and full suite of products
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of software development best practices in the areas of coding tools, languages and APIs, as well as software design and development processes
  • Other specific responsibilities vary by project area and experience, but may include technical leadership of a software project team

Requirements of Senior Games Engineer

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 7-8 years of professional software development experience
  • 2-5 years of games development experience
  • 1-3 years of mobile gaming experience in tablet and/or other mobile device development - Android and especially IOS, experience with both platforms is a plus
  • Proven technical leadership experience in a professional environment, including ownership and delivery of a sizable product or product component, strong sense of independence and self-direction is essential
  • Strong fundamentals (OO, algorithms, data structures, graphical)
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming in Java or Objective-C
  • Taste for simplicity and elegance in technical design and implementation as well as an appreciation for test driven development and building software
  • Advanced front-end skills with native tablet applications
  • Experience with large code base and working with external vendors
  • Experience with maximization of system resources to allow applications to run on phones and tablets
