Success Academy Charter Schools is a fast growing not-for-profit Charter Management Organization (CMO) that operates 14 public charter elementary and middle schools throughout New York City (with 6 additional school openings planned for August 2013). Over the next decade, our network will grow to 40 schools that provide a phenomenal K-8 public education to NYC school children. Our dual mission is to:

Success Academy Charter Schools is looking for a Sports Manager to design, implement, and run our after-school sports program across our network of schools.

Department Overview

As a member of the Learning Team, the Sports Manager will take the lead on our after-school sports program, working closely with our Athletic Coaches across our network of schools. Our after-school sports program drives further the goal of Success Academies, in building the community of the school, bringing together scholars, parents, and other folks within the school community.

Responsibilities include:

After-school sports program: In collaboration with our learning team and specials teachers, support in the development and implementation our after-school sports program to roll out across our network of schools

Sports Curriculum: Play a key role in designing sports curriculum for our Athletic Coaches

The ideal candidate for this position must have a Bachelor's Degree and a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of previous work experience, including sports, program coordination or training experience.

A candidate must exemplify proficiency in the following areas:

• Organization. Highly organized and able to manage sophisticated events, able to independently manage projects and deadlines.
• Project Management. Able to plan and fully execute against a strategy. Exceptional follow-through and adherence to deadlines. Able to prioritize among multiple tasks and goals.
• Problem-solving. Approaches challenges in creative ways and finds thoughtful solutions.
• Oral and written communication. Comfort with public speaking, addressing a variety of audiences with a knowledgeable and friendly demeanor. Audiences include school staff, parents, scholars and partner organizations.

• Flexibility. Ability to adjust expected tasks and schedule to the updated priorities.
