| Description | HDR EOC is searching for a Fuel Systems Engineer to provide construction related engineering for fuels projects at military installations and other federal and non-federal facilities. The duties of this position include but are not limited to: * Analysis, evaluation and design of fuel systems (including military) construction and repairs. * Provide fuel system construction phase engineering support and guidance to client and HDR EOC field personnel. * Perform fuel system construction and repair project site walks; validate and refine project scope of work; prepare cost estimates. * Provide design documents as part of planning studies. * Provide engineering support and assistance, as needed, for project proposal development and project plans/reports. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of the following: * 5+ years experience in engineering support of fuel (primarily liquid jet fuel) handling, storage and dispensing in accordance with DoD requirements * Design preparation using CADD. * DoD fuel system functionality, equipment and materials used in construction (preferred)* Regulations related to military fueling systems construction * Knowledge of military specifications for fuels and fueling components and fuel industry specifications * Experience in evaluating coating and corrosion protection systems * Knowledge of cathodic protection systems * Skills and experience in Project Management desired * * American Petroleum Institute (API) certification in tank and/or piping inspection preferred. * Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action * Meet schedules and time lines * Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures * Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others * Maintain records and prepare reports * Resolve conflicts in a positive manner This position may be located in any of our HDR offices. | Requirements | A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required. PE License required. API Certifications are not required but preferred. 5+ years design experience required, government and Department of Defense (DoD) experience preferred. Must have valid driver's license and be able to secure US DoD Common Access Card (CAC). Must have experience with Federal funded projects and knowledge of US DoD rules and regulations. OSHA certified is a plus. Some work is performed in the field and may include walking, standing, bending, climbing and other physical activities.
