Our Elliott, Nielsen, Sanlo business in Binghamton, NY is adding a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to their team to provide sourcing capabilities to support their New Product Development program. Reporting to the Global Supply Chain Manager, this position primarily provides support to NPD via the following responsibilities, but is not limited to required skills listed below.



Required Skills
  • Source products and services, negotiate tooling, pricing and delivery to support NPD, such that the supply chain can be sustained, monitored and improved.
  • Analyze suppliers' capabilities to sustain support for Elliott NPD from product introduction to maturity.
  • Create and drive innovative solutions to meet NPD requirements for materials.
  • Provide "Quotation" On Time Delivery, and once awarded material On Time Delivery.
  • Provide "LCC" solutions, specifically China and India.
  • Provide alternate manufacturing methods such as powdered metal and investment casting.
  • Develop cost reduction projects by supplier or commodity, undertaking initiatives to find additional sources or offshore sources of supply, for critical parts or commodities and develop sales agreements/contracts.
  • Assume purchasing responsibility for an assigned commodity or market.
  • Active member in the SPT(Specialty Power Transmission) Global Sourcing team.
  • Both NA and International travel required for supplier development.


Required Experience
  • Minimum BS degree, Engineering Degree preferred
  • 5 to 10 years experience with strategic sourcing for New Product Development.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and supplier qualification and development
  • Minimum of 10 years purchasing experience
