Position Overview:
Consumer Reports (CR) is a 250 million dollar non-profit organization focused on testing products, informing and protecting consumers. CR has the largest subscriber-based website in the world (3.5 million) and a combined online/print base of over 8 million. Headquartered in Yonkers, NY, the company has approximately 600 staff members with offices in Washington, DC, Austin, TX, San Francisco, CA, Colchester, CT, and Richmond, VT.

Join a team of professionals dedicated to protecting and informing consumers through various communication channels. This is a wonderful summer internship opportunity for students interested in gaining invaluable experience in a vibrant organization.

Summer internships will be available to current full-time students (undergraduate or graduate students) or recent graduates (graduated in December 2012 or graduating in May 2013). Academic credits can be applied if applicable (please specify in your application if your internship will be for credit and provide contact information for your academic institution representative).

Internship positions will start in late May and run through mid-August (total of 12 weeks, with some flexibility). Interns will be paid $15 per hour based on a 35-hour work week. In addition, interns will be invited to participate in activities including lunch with senior leaders of Consumer Reports, a tour of our world-renowned product testing labs, and a trip to our Auto Test facilities in Colchester, CT.

NOTE: For summer internships, Consumers Reports cannot pay any relocation or housing allowance. Internships are filled on a rolling basis. It is suggested that you apply as soon as possible.

Consumer Reports interns are considered trainees under the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1973.
Qualifications Include:
* Candidates should be pursuing a Finance or Accounting major and have completed at least two accounting courses.
* Basic accounting knowledge is needed to assist in account reconciliation work.
* Basic understanding of the different areas of a corporate finance department.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in an office environment are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accounting - account analysis, audit support, accounting policies and procedures
* Business Planning & Analysis - product and performance analytics and modeling assumptions
* Treasury - cash flow forecasting, investment reporting, risk management projects
