The Airport Services Supervisor leads and coordinates the activities of lead agents and agents to ensure on-time dependability. Resolve operational issues and customer service problems during tour of duty as necessary. Work in operation during peak or irregular periods. Interpret, administer, and monitor company rules, policies and procedures to employees and enforces safety regulations. Coach and counsel personnel and provide guidance to team on performance issues. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems. Prepare company reports as necessary. Coordinate utilization of manpower for daily operation. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals. Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures. May train new workers. Maintains time and attendance records as well as personnel files and performance records. Confers with other Supervisors and/or Managers to coordinate activities of individual departments. Work as a leader in a team environment. May be required to drive Company vehicles. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers. Determines procedures, work schedules, and expedites workflow. Issues written and oral instructions. Assigns duties and examines work for completeness and conformance to policies and procedures. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates. Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates. May perform or assist subordinates in performing duties. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language. Must be able to lead and motivate employees under demanding operational conditions. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to accept responsibility and communicate with all levels of management. Must be willing to work outdoors in any weather conditions in accordance to AE Safety Guidelines. Must be willing to work extra hours when there are operational needs, such as weather delays. Must be able to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and days-off. Prior airline experience or travel industry knowledge preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred or equivalent amount of work experience.
Experience: Previous customer service experience required; minimum of one year. Applicants currently working in an airline operation with responsibilities of working above wing (customer service) and below wing (ramp operations) at this airport may be given first consideration. Working knowledge of PC and software applications required. Previous airline experience or travel industry knowledge preferred. Budgeting/auditing and previous supervisory experience preferred.
