Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation is seeking an experienced Land Mobile Radio (LMR) implementation engineer to become part of our team on the Emergency Communications Transformation Program (ECTP2) as one of two LMR/Microwave Radio - Telecom Engineering and Integration Leads.
Job Description
The LMR/Microwave Radio - Telecom Engineering and Integration Lead must have a strong background in the design and implementation of LMR systems, preferably with direct experience related to Police, Fire, and EMS Dispatch Communications and Field Operations. The position requires the candidate to interface with the customer and user communities to gather requirements, support the development of solutions, and lead specific construction and integration activities, and report on subcontractor activities.
Under the general Direction of the Radio Team Project Manager the LMR/Microwave Radio - Telecom Engineering and Integration Lead will support the design, technical planning, system integration, verification and validation testing of the Dispatch Radio Console Subsystem and used by Police and Fire Agencies. The ideal candidate will also need to have a good understanding of the Microwave System design concept to design the connectivity of the Radio Console subsystem to the existing LMR network. She/he will lead/support analysis at all levels of the telecommunications system to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal, and ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The candidate will perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

She/he will lead/support analysis at all levels of the telecommunications system to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal, and ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The candidate will perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic Qualifications: * A working understanding of public safety Radio Console & LMR System design and implementation is required (voice and data).
* A working understanding of the Motorola Radio Console System MC7500 operation, design or integration is highly desired.
* The candidate must have strong analytical as well as verbal and written communications skills.
* A practical working knowledge of programmatic skills, including scheduling and cost, are required.
* A practical working knowledge of Use Cases, Test Cases, and Requirements documentation and testing is required.
* A solid understanding of public safety concepts of operations is also desired.
Education requirement:
Masters Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, or related disciplines and at least 13 years of Radio - Telecommunications related Engineering experience.
A Bachelors Degree and 16 years of applicable experience may be considered lieu of Masters Degree.
