At Stony Brook Medicine the Staff Assistant in our Sleep Disorders Center functions as resource to patients by answering calls, scheduling Sleep Disorders Center intake and follow up physician appointments, as well as scheduling overnight Sleep Disorders testing. The Staff Assistant supports the physician staff members by confirming appointments and managing physician schedules. The Staff Assistant must have excellent communication skills. The Staff Assistant will need a working knowledge of insurance requirements and approval procedures to correctly manage patient appointments.
