Department School of Social Work
Salary Commensurate With Experience
Posting Summary
Rutgers University School of Social Work (RUSSW) seeks a dynamic faculty member to join our productive faculty in continued expansion of the School's Center for Research on Ending Violence. We plan to add a faculty member to our non-tenure track research faculty at the assistant professor rank.
We seek highly motivated and productive scholars, and entrepreneurial and innovative thinkers, who have a strong commitment to research to apply. Successful candidates will be interested in inter- and transdisciplinary research that advances the reputation of the Center and School. In this year's search, we are particularly interested in scholars who can advance research agendas in violence prevention and response and intersectionality.
Successful applicants should hold a Ph.D. in the area of Social Work or a related discipline. They should have strong methodological training, outstanding research achievements or potential for publication in top journals, and communication skills. The new faculty member is expected to be actively involved in research and grant work, and mentor students at the doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate levels. Candidates should demonstrate achievement consistent with their rank. All candidates are expected to maintain an extramurally-funded research agenda. As always, we seek to increase the diversity of our faculty, and welcome applicants from under-represented groups. This will be one year appointment, renewable up to one year with future consideration dependent upon the candidate's ability to secure grant funding to support the position.
The successful candidate will work at the Center for Research on Ending Violence at the Rutgers School of Social Work. The Center strives to eliminate all forms of violence and the power imbalances that permit them. We accomplish our mission through a collaborative approach that focuses on multidisciplinary research, education, and community engagement.
Outside the School, there are rich opportunities for collaboration with other professional schools at Rutgers, including the School of Public Health, the School of Communication and Information the School of Management and Labor Relations, the School of Criminal Justice, the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research, and the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, to name but a few.
