Overview

Job Purpose

The Junior Audio Visual (AV) Technician will play a crucial role in providing technical support for audio-visual systems within a corporate environment. This position involves installation, deployment, and maintenance of AV-based equipment, including audio, video, lighting, and control systems. The Junior AV Technician will also provide event-related support.

Responsibilities

  1. Installation and Setup:
    • Assist in setting up audio-visual equipment for meetings, conferences, and events.
    • Ensure proper functioning of projectors, screens, microphones, and other AV devices.
    • Collaborate with team members to create seamless AV experiences.
  2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
    • Perform routine maintenance on AV equipment.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues promptly during events.
    • Coordinate with senior technicians for complex repairs.
  3. Event Support:
    • Provide on-site AV support during corporate events, presentations, and seminars.
    • Operate AV systems during live events, ensuring optimal sound and visual quality.
    • Assist presenters with microphone setup and audio playback.
  4. Inventory Management:
    • Keep track of AV equipment inventory.
    • Order replacement parts as needed.
    • Maintain organized storage of cables, adapters, and accessories.
  5. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with IT teams, event planners, and stakeholders.
    • Communicate effectively to address AV requirements and troubleshoot issues.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant certifications (e.g., CTS, AVIXA) are a plus.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of hands-on experience in corporate audio-visual systems.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in setting up and operating AV equipment.
    • Knowledge of audio mixing, video projection, and lighting principles.
    • Familiarity with control systems (Crestron, Extron, etc.).
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

New York Base Salary Range

The expected base salary for this role if located in New York City is between 65,000 - 85,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
