Job Description

Harmony Biosciences is recruiting for an Associate Director, Research & Development Portfolio Management in our Plymouth Meeting, PA location. In this role you will partner with project teams across the preclinical and clinical development portfolio, integrating drug development across all functions, and translating strategy into execution to deliver medicines to patients.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provides development portfolio & program management to cross-functional, cross-divisional teams to drive execution and delivery in early to late-phase complex development management programs to meet company strategic objectives.
  • Actively manages cross program interdependencies and trade-offs to ensure multiple programs are executed to predictable delivery milestones.
  • Identifies ways to optimize program execution without compromising patient safety or compliance.
  • Builds and actively manages the development programs integrated development timeline with a focus on critical path management.
  • Partners with key functional areas as well as Finance to provide financial oversight of the program including cross-functional budgets.
  • Proactively addresses and removes barriers to program progress, keeping leadership informed of critical considerations (e.g., resources, performance).
  • Proactively identifies potential issues or obstacles and achieves resolution or plans contingencies. Follows issues through to resolution ensuring that all key stakeholders are informed of outcomes and program implications.
  • Manages scheduled/ad-hoc program reporting, citing program goals/KPIs status, proactively identifying risk & planned mitigation(s), providing rationale for timeline & budget variances.
  • Proactively manages key stakeholders and facilitates or leads relevant communications to appropriate cross-regional (if needed), cross-functional, cross-divisional and Alliance partners
  • Supports corporate initiatives as needed, such as the budgeting process, portfolio reviews, and other corporate projects and/or duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Operations Management, or other related area required; MS or MBA, or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry and drug development (across any/all phases)
  • Demonstrated program management experience leading complex pharmaceutical projects in a multi-disciplinary global environment. Matrix program leadership and management skills are required.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience creating project management reports associated with Timelines and Budgets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience organizing, running, and producing minutes for Project Team meetings.
  • Keen understanding of clinical development and regulatory processes across drug development.
  • Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency and standard of quality; ability to prioritize tasks and work simultaneously on multiple projects.
  • Ability to facilitate, negotiate and communicate in cross-functional team environment to achieve overall project goals.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and MS Projects


Physical demands and work environment:

  • Domestic travel is estimated to be 10% of the time for this position.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision.
  • Manual dexterity required to use computers, tablets, and cell phone.
