Client Summary:
Our client is New Jersey's last remaining independent, Catholic health system, comprising a comprehensive 361-bed acute care medical center, a cancer center, medical fitness center, residential hospice, nursing school, and physician network. The system has a national reputation for providing culturally sensitive care to a diverse population, drawing patients from across the New York City region to its specialty centers and renowned doctors.

Summary of Need:
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
  • Evaluating medical information, as well as providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients.
  • Preparing, administering and recording prescribed medications.
  • Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
  • Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements.
  • Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
  • Answering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
  • Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records.
  • Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.

  • Primary Unit: Stepdown Unit. Will float to other units with step-down level assignment...

  • 2 plus years experience...
  • First time travelers accepted...
  • ACLS, BLS required...
  • Patient Mix/ Skills: Cardiac M/S tele patients. Proficient in reading and interpreting rhythms care for patients and cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Heparin...
  • Patient ratio: Tele 1:6, ICU 1:4, IMC 1:5-6...
  • System created charting system: Home Grown (will be trained on)...
  • Black scrub top and white bottoms...
