Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Specialist - Communications.

In this role, the successful candidate will serve as a content strategist and developer to elevate our printed publications and transform NYULHs intranet Inside Health into a comprehensive, thought-provoking, and informative site that delivers a stellar employee experience. This position will help drive the continuous improvement of our publications and Inside Health while driving awareness of institutional priorities and updates.

Job Responsibilities:

Institutional Communications:

    • Develop and curate world-class content for our printed publications and our intranet - Inside Health - that more deeply connects our internal and external audiences to the institution
    • Ensure adherence to standards for Publications/Inside Health's layout, design, style, and voice to drive a consistent user / employee experience
    • Manage content across departmental pages to ensure relevancy and recency of features
    • Support the Editor in Chief with the approval process for all publications and communications to help curate the optimal set of editorial pieces, articles, photographs, and key institutional updates while ensuring adherence to all established standards
    • Incorporate audience-specific channel and engagement strategies to optimize communications that inform and inspire internal audiences
    • Support auditing and quality control efforts for internal sites to drive standardization for an optimal user experience; proactively communicate the Inside Health strategy for department sites to ensure consistency and adherence to guidelines
    • Maintain standardized processes to ensure consistency and accuracy across all communications

Collaboration:

    • Support the Editor in Chief in strategizing, planning, and executing institution-wide communications for our printed publications and Inside Health in coordination with key groups including executive leadership, department heads, and teams in Brand, Experience, Creative, & Design COE, Content Strategy & Development COE, Media Relations COE, Program
    • Measurement & Business Operations Platform, and Enterprise Communications COE
    • Collaborate with colleagues in the Content Strategy & Development COE to align on editorial calendars and key priorities
    • Support maintenance of the editorial calendar for Publications/Inside Health, ensuring timely and relevant content updates
    • Frame content in a way that evokes inspiration, captivates stakeholders, and increases brand reputation by sharing NYULH's trailblazing endeavors

Operational Excellence:

    • Collect and incorporate feedback on Inside Health to continuously improve the usability and employee experience
    • Receive and incorporate insights from key metrics and outcomes to gauge the effectiveness of the communication strategy; adapt strategies based on outcomes
    • Efficiently and effectively execute goals and priorities while adhering to organizational standards for delivering excellent work
    • Elevate the quality of communications to guarantee they meet or exceed established standards

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in communications or related field.
3-5+ years of experience in communications, specifically institutional or internal communications.

Preferred Qualifications:
Accomplished writer, editor, and communicator.
Experience creating and managing engaging content for a broad audience.
Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for design consistency.
Adept at building rapport and exhibiting strong interpersonal skills, with an established track record of cultivating meaningful relationships with colleagues and leaders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Possesses a growth mindset and willingness to use a test-and-learn approach.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $112,951.35 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
