Community Outreach to People with Disabilities

These organizations are participating in our exclusive Community Outreach program. Through this program, groups and organizations that directly work with People with Disabilities receive open job notifications on a daily basis that match the criteria they specifically requested. These daily notifications (known as JobCasts™) can be customized by location, profession, education and experience.

Access Buffalo

Access BuffaloAccess Buffalo™ provides accessibility-friendly information about entertainment attractions, hotels, and restaurants in the Western New York area so that customers with developmental disabilities and/or those who use wheelchairs can make informed choices about where to stay, dine, and enjoy entertainment. In addition, volunteers and participating entertainment attractions, hotels, and restaurants are provided the tools of awareness of disability issues that may impact customer service and/or social action through volunteerism.

Alexandre Community Foundation

Alexandre Community FoundationThe Alexandre Community Foundation was created to help individuals, families, and organizations in need. ACF provides services and resources to marginalized people in New York, New Jersey, and abroad, and advocates on their behalf. ACF’s programs help people navigate the bureaucracy and red tape that prove challenging to individuals with special needs, including people with disabilities, elderly people, and individuals with chronic health problems.

Association for the Visually Impaired - Spring Valley

Association for the Visually Impaired - Spring ValleyOur Mission is to enable persons of all ages who are visually impaired, blind or deaf-blind living throughout Rockland and Orange Counties to lead as independent a life as possible by providing rehabilitation and counseling services in their homes and communities. AVI strives to improve the quality of life for each consumer by recognizing individual preferences and specific needs. We provide individualized rehabilitation teaching, social services, orientation and mobility, functional vision training and educational services.

Barrier Free Living, Inc

Barrier Free Living, IncBarrier Free Living’s 48-bed transitional housing facility offers men and women with disabilities a fully accessible and safe place to live, with additional support services, until they are able to obtain permanent housing. Our Transitional Housing staff works to ensure that residents acquire or strengthen the skills necessary to successfully reintegrate into their communities, by offering independent living skills workshops, occupational therapy, a savings account program and other related casework services.
