Overview:

Join our movement

Success Academy Charter Schools is a fast growing not-for-profit Charter Management Organization (CMO) that operates nine public charter elementary and middle schools throughout New York City (with three additional school openings planned for August 2012). Over the next decade, our network will grow to 40 schools that provide a phenomenal K-8 public education to NYC school children. Our dual mission is to:

  1. Offer children in New York City an exceptional public education that prepares them to succeed in college and life.
  2. Forever alter the educational prospects for all public school children by creating a tipping point - moving a nation where educational failure is the norm to a nation that expects high-quality public school options for all children.

We are looking for a results-driven, highly organized Project Manager to help execute the network's ambitious goals in partnership with the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The ideal candidate will have strong project management, communications, and analytical skills. S/he will help drive the organization's business operations, including conceptualizing strategy, implementing operating plans and creating budgets. This key position in the organization will aid Success Academy Charter Schools as it evolves from a network serving 9 schools to a network serving 40 elementary and middle schools with more 20,000 students and a $250M budget. The Project Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, and will work closely with the network Directors.

Responsibilities:

Our Project Manager will...

  • Execute high impact initiatives; including rethinking strategic processes and working directly with network directors to craft and execute against yearly objectives.
  • Apply leadership, management and analytical skills to critical organizational priorities.
  • Assess and perfect workflow processes throughout the organization
  • Streamline SACS' data collection, evaluate systems and produce due diligence on information systems used by the network and each of our nine schools, soon to be 40 schools.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have an eagerness to learn and a passion for education reform. 6+ years of professional experience in the education sector is strongly preferred, but not required.

Qualified candidates will have professional poise, leadership qualities, efficient team management skills, ability to resolve conflicting situations, effective problem solving skills, excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities, incredible attention to detail, a strong capacity with numbers and Excel. Successful candidates must be goal-oriented, organized, strategic thinkers and be comfortable with long hours and a heavy workload.
