Job Description

Working as part of a team of Global Procurement professionals, the Associate position is responsible for providing the analytical support needed for developing and measuring team metrics, internal spend and savings, external supplier financials and information, market and economic dynamics and procurement processes.   The role will support  the  Global Procurement Team in the evaluation of business opportunities, supplier capabilities and sourcing solutions, collaborating with Category Strategy Managers, regional and market Procurement colleagues.   As assigned, the Associate will execute category strategy, sourcing and/or supplier relationship management activities as outlined.

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The key tasks include, but are not limited to:

I - Category strategy collaboration and operational implementation:

  • Support the analytical requirements defined by the GP reporting line, including but not limited to:
    • Data gathering (internal and external) including Business requirements
    • Market and supplier analysis
    • Data management
  • Work with internal functional experts, suppliers, and at times consultants, to implement and document various procurement team strategies and operational improvement efforts
  • Develop well-rounded industry knowledge in various subcategory groupings including direct manufacturing and external supplier expenditures, facilities and logistics, and site supplies, services, capital and energy expenses.

 

II - Sourcing activity and contract negotiation:

  • Support GP Colleagues, as needed, in sourcing events, including supplier due diligence activities to determine alignment with Pfizer requirements and partnership prospects for the longer term.
  • Track and resolve project issues and concerns related to sourcing and operational initiatives. Create key sourcing documents (RFXs) and build expertise in the utilisation of ARIBA eSourcing .
  • Take ownership for delivering end to end sourcing activity for appropriate complexity projects to build knowledge of the sourcing process, tools and skills.

 

III - Supplier relationship management:

  • Support your GP Colleagues in delivering effective supplier performance management including the utilization and compliance to the Pfizer Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process.

 

IV - Client engagement and customer relationship management:

  • Support your GP colleagues in managing the internal relationships with business stakeholders
  • Build a strong network of functional contacts, including Finance and GP Business Process Optimization (BPO) teams, to enable optimal execution of your responsibilities and operational requirements of the team.
  • Engage with your counterparts in other GP teams to share knowledge and best practice.

V - Business process and compliance:

  • Support project office activities to assure tasks are executed among team in quality and timely manner.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of available information databases and emerging tools and technology that will best support the procurement and operational initiatives
  • Ensure that procurement SharePoint sites are properly managed and maintained, or created if needed.

VI - Reporting:

  • Produce data analysis reporting in appropriate format for use by Procurement colleagues.
  • Coordinate financial reporting activities.
  • Provide compliance reporting against policy, processes, systems and suppliers
  • Prepare discussion content (summary level or detail level) as needed for team meetings, stakeholder discussions, and sourcing events

 

Basic QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain/Procurement, Engineering, or related field required.  Minimum GPA 3.2 average, with minimum 3.5 in major.
  • 2-4 years Work experience (internship or full time) in Procurement or Finance discipline preferred, ideally within a large multi-national company.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, formula creation, macros, etc).
  • Strong organizational skills, capacity to quickly identify problems and structure solutions, and to plan and prioritize multiple projects, while maintaining high quality and meeting or exceeding deadlines.
