Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

The candidate will be expected with guidance to develop robust chromatographic separation or spectroscopic based analytical assays for vaccine candidates, including proteins, conjugates, virus or other products. He/She will contribute to the method qualification design and will execute experiments to qualify and transfer these assays. The candidate will be expected to provide routine analysis in support of bioprocess and formulation development.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide lab based chromatographic (RP-HPLC, IEX, SEC) assay development and routine analysis support.
  • Analyze data obtained from assay development and routine analysis and document all experiments and conclusions in an laboratory notebook
  • He/she will aid in the design, planning, and execution of method qualification and method transfer studies and will contribute to the data report authorship.
  • The individual will perform routine analysis and should be able to plan and prioritize related assay development and analysis daily activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with at least at least 6 (BS) or 4 (MS) years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Previous experience developing and utilizing separation-based analytical techniques (RP-HPLC, IEX, SEC, CE) is essential. Experience with applying these methodologies to biomolecules is strongly preferred. Experience with HPAEC-PAD, and MALS is a plus.
  • The candidate ideally should be familiar with the general concepts of the ICH guidelines for method qualification and method transfer.
  • Background in carbohydrate, polysaccharide conjugates or nucleic acids characterization techniques are considered as major plus.
  • Proficiency with personal computers including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
