Overview

Summary

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting a wide range of internal communication programs and activities directed at driving employee engagement, culture, and information exchange to employees and key stakeholders through all internal communications including the company intranet.

 

Is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the company intranet in collaboration with the IT SharePoint team and will act as primary liaison between intranet key stakeholders including CONNECT Site and Content Owners and the IT/SharePoint team.

 

 
Responsibilities

Essential Functions

    Assists with coordination and management of all projects run from the Internal Communications Department
  • Assists with day-to-day internal communication platforms such as Bi-Monthly Company Calls and other live events including content creation
  • Assists in keeping team informed by communicating executive-level initiatives and business strategyin all internal communications including acquisition and change management communications
  • Print and digital content creation
  • Promotes the ConvergeOne internal brand, corporate culture, values and team engagement
  • Responsible for the day-to-day continuous improvement, content creation, and ad-hoc projects for internal communications 
  • Will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills, collaborate with teams across the enterprise, and demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of intranet corporate governance and of best practices within the SharePoint and enterprise environment
  • Assists with upholding company intranet corporate governance, brand standards and navigation hierarchy
  • Acts as primary liaison between intranet content creaators and IT/SharePoint team on issue resolution, content creation and management
  • Provides intranet site and content owner training and support
  • Performs analysis of company intranet site data
  • Performs a variety of related duties in an ad hoc nature by being part of the Communications Team, working cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless service; a wide degree of creativity and self-direction is expected

 

Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing and executing event strategy, objectives, brand positioning and planning of internal events
  • Maintains up-to-date executive bios and photos
  • Writes and edits executive team talking points, Q+As, and presentations for internal events as required

 

 
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfort collaborating with senior level executives
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy
  • Experienced and comfortable working in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments
  • Exceptional organization skills, attention to detail and follow through techniques
  • Reliable + Dependable. Must meet deadlines regardless of schedule
  • Self-starter who operates independently and anticipates what needs to be done
  • Takes ownership of work and looks for ways to improve and streamline processes
  • Effective problem solver
  • Ability to multi-task as well as work quickly and accurately
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office specifically PowerPoint 
  • Copy editing and proofreading experience
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Enterprise Edition

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or similar preferred
  • 5+ years marketing + communications experience
  • Understanding of the enterprise's organizational structure
  • 2 or more years of experience managing intranets or collaborative software
  • High level of comfort with social software and other web-based technologies
  • Knowledge of social media and digital media platforms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and capacity to integrate with SharePoint
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values

Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
