Branch Banking Support Services Representative - Depositor Services - Chelsea, NY

Branch Banking Support Services Representative processes Deposit Operations requests and inquiries, and involves performing various activities supporting branch operations functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Branch Banking Support Services Representative position supports the Senior Representative position by performing the duties delegated by the Senior Rep. This may entail initial transaction processing, review or reconciliation of the activities listed below:

  • Removal of lock flags on recertified Non-Resident Alien (NRA) accounts.
  • Removal of lock flags on accounts with mismatched IRS TINs (W8-BEN/IRS B Notices).
  • Compile data and fulfil Medicaid and Verification of Deposit requestsVODs).
  • Conduct transaction monitoring first line reviews and summarize results to facilitate supervisory reviews, for example, deceased account owner transaction, interest adjustments and manager's drafts.
  • Process Bank-By-Mail (BBM) transactions in accordance with the Bank's check hold policy, all special provisions as outlined in primary disclosure "About Your Apple Accounts "and written guidance provided by Deposit Operations.
  • Process Returned Mail Handling, for example, create input file to halt statement processing and apply mailing lock flags and better address warning flags.
  • Notify branches upon receipt of returned (undeliverable) mail, for example, welcome letters, change of address letters and safe deposit payment invoices.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides support to complete other departmental initiatives as deemed necessary.

Skills, Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years of experience in a banking or financial services setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Bank policies and procedures
  • Must have familiarity with the Bank's database system and related programs, systems and technology, including Cypress and Odin.
  • Must display strong communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet recurrent deadlines,
  • Ability to work independently,
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and data entry skills,
  • Team oriented,
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite and other necessary Bank systems.
  • Must demonstrate sound judgement, adhere to professional standards and exercise strict confidentiality in matters requiring discretion.
