Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated, team oriented and ambitious individual to join and help grow a dynamic and highly talented team.

Macquarie Asset Management's Private Credit team invests in infrastructure debt assets on behalf of Macquarie's institutional client base and is a leader in the asset class. This team combines the best of Macquarie's deep infrastructure debt experience with a flexible and highly dynamic approach to investing for our clients and growing opportunities for the business.

Based in New York, you will be a key driver of the continued growth of the Private Credit platform as we look to expand the team and the product offering. You will be closely involved in team buildout, product development and origination and management of investment opportunities into new and existing markets, right across the credit spectrum.

In collaboration with the existing team, your responsibilities will require you to:

  • Develop further products for the platform including additional higher yielding capabilities
  • Develop the platform's branding, with input and support from various internal and external stakeholders, to communicate our overall value proposition
  • Spearhead the sourcing and execution of new assets, drive portfolio and asset management initiatives and develop and build relationships with external borrowers, sponsors and advisors
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of new investments including due diligence, approvals and commercial negotiations
  • Foster and maintain our strong culture emphasizing integrity, promoting diversity and encouraging collaboration
  • Partner with Macquarie's global distribution team to drive capital-raising efforts

Your qualifications will include:

  • Outstanding professional reputation with the presence, poise, and interpersonal skills required to represent a platform effectively to the investment community and other internal and external constituents
  • Genuine interest in, and commitment to, defining and leading an investment strategy that will be focused on DEI and ESG
  • 15+ years of lending / asset management experience, ideally in a principal investment role or similar transactional seat
  • Proven track record sourcing and executing debt investments across various asset classes and geographies, with strong investment acumen to be able to evaluate new investment themes and markets
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, with strong work ethic and high degree of self-motivation
  • Passion for personal growth coupled with impeccable judgment and ethics
  • Strong prioritization skills, ability to deliver within tight timelines, effectiveness in planning and ensuring quality output will be essential in this role.
  • You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, proactive, and resilient individual.
  • You will be highly numerate and possess skills in all aspects of credit and financial analysis. You will have the ability to demonstrate sound business judgement. You possess strong interpersonal skills which will give you the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels and be an effective team player.
  • Experience in the broader Private Credit or Real Estate space would be an added benefit
  • Finally, you will be degree-educated.
