Job Description

The position will manage perfume assistant lab, sampling lab (including robot), application lab and quality control department. The Technical Director/ Manager will work with the Global Technical Director (ops) keeping a close relationship with Bell Works creative center operational labs and ST&I for both NY and Bell Works Creative Centers. It will be responsible for Fine Fragrance and Consumer Fragrance categories operations in the NY Office.

To ensure the NY creative center(s) are designed and equipped to optimize the creative experience whilst operating in efficient and effective manner continuously improving operational performance against defined metrics.

To fully understand the Creative Excellence Model and better enable it via optimal Creative Center Operations.

Sampling

To design and implement a regional consistent sampling process flow to ensure optimal sampling on time delivery (internal & external), quality and cost to serve.

To agree critical metrics with key stakeholders. To roll out sampling reports and provide relevant and timely analysis of data against KPIs.

To monitor the Sampling process via audit and metrics and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

To make recommendations for best practice sampling equipment and SOPs to support achievement of process goals.

To develop and implement strategic plan for key transformational projects (new robot 2021).

Perfumery Facilities

To define global standards for the creative center facilities ensuring best in class space design to enhance creativity and required standards for extraction and air quality to support creative perfumery.

To define global standards for evaluation facilities - physical spaces such as booths etc and equipment such as washing machines. Within global standards to incorporate local variances in terms of washing culture etc.

To agree critical metrics with key stakeholders.

To monitor the facilities performance via audit and metrics and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

CAPEX

To provide a source of expertise and advice for development of CAPEX proposals for NY CC enhancements in line with global standards and goals.

To provide a source of expertise to support delivery of approved CAPEXes.

Cost to Serve

To incorporate all cost to serve principles into Creative Center operations.

To partner with Creative Catalogue, Value Creation, Manufacturing teams to continuously improve cost to serve via ingredient rationalization, inventory management, raw material flow and appropriate adaptation of creative center operations to best enable the value creation.

Talent Management

To define skill, experience, knowledge and competency standards for each of the key roles within Creative Center Operations.

To define onboarding and training programs for each role to minimize ramp up time and to optimize performance.

To define sourcing strategies for each of the key roles.

To build a talent profile for NY center that is a blend of experienced long-term Creative Centre Operations employees together with a pipeline that gains fundamental knowledge and skills targeting a robust retention and succession plan.

To optimize team performance through excellent leadership, stretching goal setting, coaching and development.

Job Requirements

Essential:

Knowledge and acumen within operations.

Minimum of5 years multi-disciplinary business process and management experience.

Bachelors state of knowledge or higher in Engineering and/ or Chemistry (or related).

Problem solver and adaptability skills.

Excellent leadership and team building capabilities.

Strong verbal and written communication skills (English).

Ability to work on cross-functional project teams.

Proficient in Excel.

Preferred:

Business knowledge and acumen within the Fragrance Industry.

Understanding of the creative process and link to operations.

Knowledge of the sampling process.

Knowledge of SAP preferred.
