The team you'll be part of
The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia's Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.

Our team is seeking energetic, creative individuals for a Software Developer position for Nokia Network Functions Manager - Transport (NFM-T) Optical Management System application. NFM-T centralizes multiple network management and operations functions in one unified platform for the Nokia Optical portfolio. It allows network planning and operations staff to plan, deploy, and manage the network over the total life cycle. An intuitive, well designed user interface makes complex networking features accessible and usable for end customers with a range of technical skills.

What you will learn and contribute to

As part of our team, you are an experienced Optical Management System Developer who interacts with development team members to understand the scope and intent of the assignment. You will translate feature concepts into a software design and complete a peer review, as well as develop and optimize feature functionality to meet the design specifications and resolve any software issues found during testing of the feature. You are at the front end of the R&D process, directly reporting to an R&D Technical manager in our Optical Network Management organization and will have a peer relationship with Network Element Developers.


Your skills and experience

You have:
* A degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or IT and 3+ years equivalent practical work experience in Telecommunications or Software Development (Java)
* Software Development Process know-how including planning, developing, deploying, and supporting software solutions in an agile environment
* GUI development skills (e.g., dojo, REACT, smartclient, javascript)
* Fluency in English with solid written and oral communication skills

It would be nice if you also had:
* Optical Networking (WDM/OTN/Packet) experience
* Network Management and Network Planning experience
* Exposure to Eclipse or IntellliJ, GIT, Maven/Gradle, Shell, Linux is a plus
