Job Description

As an Account Manager for customers in the Pacific North West, you will be responsible for managing a territory comprised of national, regional, and local food and beverage accounts. In addition to fostering established relationships and managing existing sales, you will identify new opportunities, grow sales, and expand your network. You will work in close cooperation with cross-functional team members, including Operations, Innovation Creation and Design, and Marketing departments within Tastepoint by IFF. To excel in this role, you should enjoy an entrepreneurial approach to your work and thrive on developing new opportunities. In this role you will be a part of a dynamic and driven sales team and report into the Sales Director, Tastepoint by IFF

Job Requirements

How you will spend your time

Cultivate and strengthen customer relationships
Achieve profitable sales growth targets via maintaining and growing business
Develop account strategies and engage relevant internal stakeholders to execute
Lead a cross-functional core team which includes Commercial Support, Technical & Marketing support individuals assigned to each account.
Implement strategic initiatives to improve profitability, including optimizing order patterns for customer and Tastepoint by IFF
Provide and maintain accurate sales forecasts
Manage pricing negotiations, pricing portfolio and achieve gross profit targets
Accountable for all communications with the customer, as well as being the liaison for all various functions between customer and Tastepoint by IFF
Coordinate with internal functions to provide timely information to all matters relating to the service of accounts.
Present to customersand/or arrange presentations for customers
Host and coordinate customer visits / workshops
Gain opportunities and projects and provide accurate and detailed entry into the Tastepoint by IFF project system ensuring that all required information is "first time right".
Manage project timelines and progress by coordinating with internal stakeholders, including Technical team members, and submission of a winning solution
Maintain timely and accurate information for on-going projects in the project management system.
Participate in team and cross-functional team meetings when requested
Keep abreast of competitive activities, prices and new business opportunities and maintain extensive business knowledge

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Management majoring in Sales or Marketing or any other relevant discipline
Food, Beverage or Ingredient Experience ofat least 5 years
Proven record of growing accounts organically and willingness to cold call
Strong ability to work with different levels or functions within the organization, familiar with senior management reporting.
Strong technical understanding of flavors and seasonings preferred, as well as ability to navigate various technical issues (process effects, labeling, regulatory and compliance, plant requirements, etc.)
Self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit desired
High passion for the food industry
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Proficient in Microsoft office e.g.: Office, Access, Excel or PowerPoint.
Have a valid driving license and willing to travelat least 50%
