Job Description

The business intelligence analyst will gather, analyze, and present data to deliver insights into customer activity, market trends, and competitive companies as a means of guiding our vision, strategy, and portfolio roadmap. This role will be a key contributor to portfolio management activities including monitoring existing business KPI's, quantifying the potential of new markets, geographic expansions, and revenue synergy activities.
The successful candidate will be able to structure analytical outputs in visually compelling ways that facilitate absorption and interpretation by all stakeholders. A balance of business understanding, and technical acumen is required to reach impactful insights and takeaways.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Management

  • Identify, acquire, and manipulate a wide array of qualitative and quantitative internal, industry, market, and competitive data.
  • Develop complex BI tools that integrate data from multiple systems for direct consumption or integration with other systems.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to integrate new sources of data into existing datasets and/or improve the reliability and availability of existing datasets
  • Participate in projects to improve master data management and data governance

Modeling

  • Answer complex business questions by applying structured problem solving and translating business goals into use cases and model design
  • Build full-cycle analysis using Data Analytics, SQL, R, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools
  • Produce recommendations and use statistical techniques and hypothesis testing to validate your findings
  • Create predictive models that can be leveraged into prescriptive insights about what drives our customers, our business, and our market.
  • Understand the business implications of the data and use it to build insights that drive decision making across management and executive teams.

Visualizations, Conclusions, and Recommendations

  • Translate raw data into easily understandable stories through visualization
  • Report against our goals by identifying essential metrics and building executive-facing dashboards to track progress
  • Drive a deeper understanding of the market landscape, including customers, technologies, trends, channels, and messaging.
  • Disseminate the insights and industry trends through regular deliverables
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators to measure the impact of the insights and analysis as well as opportunity for further improvements.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Market Research, Finance, Statistics, or equivalent Business-related field, MBA a plus
  • Advanced proficiency with one or multiple programming languages including SQL, Python, R, Hadoop
  • Knowledgeable in data analytics, project management
  • Experience with dashboarding programs including Power BI and Tableau
  • Prior experience with Salesforce or equivalent CRM system
  • Understanding of machine learning approaches and techniques
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in Ingredients, Flavors, or Health Industries a Plus
