The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia's Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
The Nokia Optics Subsystems team is engaged in developing next-generation photonic integrated circuit technologies and solutions for a broad range of datacom and telecom applications. This program has an immediate need for a Photonic Test Technician to join our Design Verification Test (DVT) team in our New York City location.
What you will learn and contribute to
As a Photonic Test Technician you support electronic test lab operation, execute tests on variety of electro-optical automated test stations, manual debugging of PCBAs and modules, and own lab maintenance and equipment calibration. You also assist with facility operations duties such as contractor coordination, maintenance, and shipping/receiving.
Your skills and experience
You have:
* Hands on work experience with test instrumentation such as source meters, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies.
* Familiarity with electro-static discharge (ESD) safety measures for work with ESD-sensitive devices.
* Experience with lab and equipment maintenance, calibration, conformance to quality standards for labs.
* Proficiency with MS Office software (primarily Excel).
* Experience with budgeting, managing vendor relationships, and procurement processes.
* Solid communication skill, including the ability to work effectively with all levels of management, other team members, and partners.
It would be nice if you also had:
* Wire-bonding proficiency.
* Hands on experience with electro-optical component testing, and optical instrumentation such as lasers, spectrum analyzers, power meters.
* Experience with cleanroom environment and maintenance.
* Wafer test experience using automated probers such as Electroglass, TEL.
* Previous facilities management experience including maintenance, contractor coordination, and shipping/receiving logistics
