Can perform basic functions along with efficient operating of the baler and wire-tier. This position is responsible to the Lead Worker or Plant Manager. Main duties involve the safe and efficient unloading, processing and storing of incoming recovered scrap material, the maintenance of the related equipment and general housekeeping of the yard and plant production areas. Must have the ability to manually push, pull, and lift some equipment and materials as needed. In all instances that a mechanical means is possible, it is done in this manner, but some manual exertion is still required. Every teammate has the authority and ability to voice their opinions and participate in the decision-making process. Along with this authority comes the responsibility of doing what needs to be done to maintain the efficiency and consistency of the operation. Must perform all duties in a manner consistent with Sonoco's best safety practices and report any damage or unsafe conditions immediately.
