Data Science Leader - Chicago

Our Product Team is growing fast to meet the demands of a dynamic marketplace. IRI continues to deliver innovative products across the range of marketing activities, including media, price, promotion, assortment, new product innovation, retail, and omni-channel distribution.

We've developed and integrated the world's largest purchase data sets to help our clients maximize sales and ROI for marketing investments. Our Data Science Leaders develop and deploy products to CPG manufacturers, retailers, and media to provide a view of what consumers and shoppers do, an understanding of why and recommendations to optimize sales performance.

Skills and Experience

To be successful you must possess the ability to execute upon the following:

  • Advanced statistical understanding of variance, estimating bias, statistical weighting, and projections
  • The ideal candidate will have experience and understanding in the following areas:
    • Media and marketing measurement such as marketing mix, attribution, Lift, and A/B testing with a digital media focus in addition to TV.
    • Digital media audience creation and targeting, including look-alike modeling
    • Retail and CPG revenue growth management, including price and promotion
    • Supply chain optimization
    • Product and channel assortment optimization
    • Product innovation and trend spotting, including market structure
    • Machine Learning and AI
  • Understanding of online and offline marketing, CPG industry, and client objectives to design the analytical framework for data scientists
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate teams across multiple time zones including US and international

Role

  • Manage a Data Science team to develop and deliver products including:
    • Media measurement and optimization (e.g., market mix modeling, MTA, Lift, A/B test and others),
    • Digital audience modeling
    • Price optimization
    • Promotion, optimization
    • Assortment optimization
    • Product innovation and portfolio optimization
  • Work with clients and partners to address challenges.
  • Advanced ability to communicate with CPG, Retail, Media, Agency Data Science teams to explain statistical concepts and methodologies. Partners include Google, Facebook, Tik Tok, Live Ramp, Experian and many others
  • Ability to explain statistical and technical subject matter to non-technical audiences.
  • Present insights and strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Manage existing client and partner relationships, including proposal development.
  • Knowledge of shopper, panel, POS and external data sets (such as demographic, causal, and exposure data) to help teams design products effectively for clients.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in a STEM field (statistics, mathematics, or other). MBA or other master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of full time, business-based experience leading data science teams in the CPG space.
