A Payroll Project Manager position is available at one of the world's best fragrance and flavor companies. This New Jersey based position is one that offers a collaborative work environment, experience in a fast-paced industry, and a chance to coordinate, organize and complete tasks necessary for projects required of payroll. Due to acquisitions, the volume and demands of the department have grown exponentially requiring a dedicated resource to meet these mandates. Projects include but are not limited to: state, government, internal and external audits; workers comp audits; quarterly tax adjustments and tax return review; technology requirements such as interface and automation management; SOX testing/signoff; stock vesting's; acquisitions; and divestitures. The position will concentrate on activities outside of the scope of normal day to day payroll processing, enabling and supporting the initiatives to stabilize and standardize payroll. We are looking for a teammate who is a self-starter who can jump in and help with anything and everything payroll-related.

  • Meeting the demands of current audit and report requests as well as various payroll projects
  • Maintaining documentation, project history, and knowledge
  • Facilitating project status meetings/report any project updates
  • Influencing others as necessary
  • Maintaining communication of project status to internal and external stakeholders
  • Reporting to upper management progress
  • Ensuring/tracking alignment of project goals, driving results to maintain project delivery according to timelines
Job Requirements

Required Experience:

  • 7+ years of increasing responsibility in payroll
  • Project management experience and the ability to multi-task
  • Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Payroll tax knowledge
  • Technical knowledge in Payroll and Vendor systems

Preferred Experience:

  • Certified Payroll Professional certification
  • Bachelor's degree in business
  • 10+ years of payroll experience
