Job Description

The Product Safety Manager is a global leadership position under the direction of the Global Director, Product Safety and Quality Management Systems. This position requires successful interaction with all plant functional management, Manufacturing Management, and regional Quality Directors. As the Product Safety Manager, your role is important in setting the IFF quality system up for success by providing best practices in product safety tools, hygiene, and skills to successfully create and implement product safety systems and process improvements based on IFF, regulatory and industry expectations.

You will spend your time...

  • Providing direction, coordinating, planning, and implementing product safety, hygiene, sanitary design, and sanitation programs

  • Managing the environmental pathogen monitoring and water testing programs, as well as other product safety systems and programs

  • Creating strategic policies related to Product Safety and mitigating risk of contamination

  • Visiting and inspecting IFF global facilities to assure adherence to global IFF standards related to product safety, hygiene, sanitation programs and other product safety systems and programs

  • Support global organizational initiatives such as harmonization of processes and adherence to best practices.

  • Providing direction, designing, and conducting validation studies of the Product Safety programs and utilizing the data to implement continuous improvement projects with assistance of the Global Product Safety & Quality Systems Project Manager

  • Assuring global compliance to prevent cross contamination prevention and controls

  • Providing and/or assisting with specific training sessions related to any or all of the above listed items

  • Lead, harmonize, and continuously improve site quality management systems, quality assurance organizations, and continuous improvement programs to provide additional value back to the business

  • Work collaboratively, negotiate, and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the quality strategies and governance processes

  • Provide frontline business input support for requirements on processes, tools, implementations, and change management activities

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather and document requirements while ensuring global alignment.

  • Plan and execute Change Management activities to ensure successful completion of technology and process improvement initiatives

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in managing Regulatory audits
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ICH/Excipient/API/HACCP
  • Experience with government regulatory agencies to include local, state, and federal agencies (FDA)

Required Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Microbiology, Biology or related field is a plus
  • 10 years of related experience is required. Experience in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and/or food industry is a plus
  • Risk management Experience
  • PCQI Certification or ability to achieve certification
