Job Description

Production Supervisor

Sartorius is seeking a collaborative supervisor for our 2nd shift (hours 3:30 p.m. - 1:30 a.m.). In this key role you will be responsible for supervising a high performing team of manufacturing employees to ensure achievement of results in our dynamic, fast paced, growing environment. You will mentor and guide the team, communicating job expectations, planning schedules, monitoring performance, coaching, counseling, and addressing employee relations issues.

Available Shift: 3:30pm-1:30am

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • Orient and train employees and provide general guidance and mentoring.
  • Initiates and fosters a spirit of cooperation within and between departments - monitors processes for adherence to established policies, ensuring adequate resources, and overseeing efforts of the team.
  • Works in close alignment with the Operations Manager on the production schedule.
  • Coordinates production plan: working in collaboration with other shift supervisors to ensure optimal scheduling and assignment of employees; revises shift schedule as needed to meet the demands of the business
  • Ensures achievement of required work results, establishes priorities, monitors Reports results of the processing flow on shift production summaries
  • Maintains quality service by establishing organization standards and ensures team adherence.
  • Responsible for ensuring equipment is operational; arranging for repairs as needed and evaluating new equipment and techniques to enhance efficiency
  • Approve timecards and PTO for the team utilizing timekeeping system.
  • Compiles relevant manufacturing information (initiates, sorts, and analyses production performance records and data), and addresses inquiries and requests
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing the team on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Addresses employee issues by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; and recommending action
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops

What will convince us

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 years' experience working in a manufacturing, production, or assembly operations environment
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to pass along instructions to the team in a clear, understandable manner
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlookand general PC aptitude
  • Effective supervision and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working with tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and work ethic and attention to detail
  • Collaborative, team-oriented work style
  • Knowledge of biotech or life sciences industries would be a benefitbut not required
