Position Details:

Grainger is transforming the experience customers have with our products and we are well on the way to making identity an important part of the journey. We are creating the strategies and designs to support customer experience across web, mobile, IoT, and API interactions with Grainger. We have millions of customers and many ways of interacting with Grainger today so identity will help us secure and refine those touchpoints.

Our mission is to enable our customers where they are by supporting a unified identity experience. As an identity architect you will show how we can accomplish this all while enhancing our security posture.

Your scope of influence includes working with our identity engineering teams, and leading deep technical architecture discussions with Product Architects, Product Managers, and Software Engineers.

This role will report to the Director of Information Security Architecture and may be based remotely or at our offices in the Chicago area.

You Will:
  • Plan, research, and develop customer IAM architecture (CIAM)
  • Define the evolving identity roadmap
  • Create architecture vision, strategy, and designs for customer digital identity
  • Work with teams to define requirements, evaluate architecture, analyze trade-offs, and recommend solutions
  • Advocate for the strategy across teams to integrate identity into their roadmaps and customer experiences
  • Evaluate products and tools through Point of View exercises
  • Develop designs for identity with identity engineers who will deliver the solutions
You Have:
  • Minimum 5 years of architecture experience
  • Minimum 3 years of information security or identity service experience
  • Bachelor's, Masters or higher degree in computer science, security, or equivalent industry experience
  • CISSP of other security or vendor product certifications

Preferred:

  • Understanding of digital identity and Identity & Access Management
  • Knowledge of open identity standards
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and industry standards
  • Understanding of working with cross-functional teams in an enterprise environment
  • Awareness of modern software lifecycle development and automated cloud infrastructure deployment
