ARDE Inc. in Carlstadt, NJ, is an Aerojet Rocketdyne company that designs and manufactures pressure vessels (tanks) for aerospace applications.
We are currently seeking a Welder. The successful individual will perform welding on flight and nonflight parts as well as other processes such as grit blasting, chemical cleaning, metal forming and other general manufacturing tasks as required. Under general supervision, the Technician must be able to work safely while producing a high quality product and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. This position is for first shift and will be located at our facility in Carlstadt, New Jersey.

This position may be filled at this level or one level higher.
The successful individual will work with a team of fabricators and/or welders to achieve production requirements
50% Perform welding in accordance with existing manufacturing instructions
Read, understand and follow shop routers
Clean surfaces to be welded
Position parts in fixtures
Perform manual tack and seal welding of assemblies
Setup up for and perform machine GTAW welding according to shop router and Weld
Schedule, including:
Pre-weld purge
Tungsten grinding
Filler material
Machine settings
Complete all documentation per company requirements
45% Perform other manufacturing tasks as assigned by supervisor to achieve production requirements
5% Complete training and attend company meetings as required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in manufacturing and/ or cleanroom environment is preferred.
Requires U.S. Citizenship or status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
The work environment may require a varied amount of walking, standing, sitting, climbing (i.e. ladders, stair, scaffolding, ramps), balance (maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces), bending, reaching, handling/fingering (seizing, holding, grasping, turning picking, pinching), stooping, kneeling, crouching and ability to lift/carry /push/pull up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, employees may work around variable noise levels or with fume or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, etc. requiring the use of personal protective equipment such as face protection (safety glasses, goggles, face shield), foot protection (i.e. steel toed shoes, rubber boots, etc.), gloves, hard hat, shop coat and hearing protection. Work requires the ability to change into or out of personal protective equipment when entering or exiting manufacturing, laboratory, or other areas. Work duties may also be required to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
