Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding an ACT-Psychiatrist to the group at South Brooklyn Health. The Hospital is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals System (NYCHHC). South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor & delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services—from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults—all designed to keep our community healthy and accommodates more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. 

The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

South Brooklyn Health Department of Psychiatry consists of board-certified physicians, nurse practitioners, and PAs including a variety of a care team.

 

The Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Program consists of two multidisciplinary teams provide comprehensive in-home and in-community treatment for high-risk patients diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses who have a history of limited adherence to traditional clinic-based services. Providers conduct psychiatric assessments, medication management, and individual, group, family, and substance use therapy services. In addition, the teams share resources related to financial and other supports that increase patients’ ability to function in the community and decrease the likelihood of rehospitalization.

 

Our behavioral health center provides both inpatient and outpatient treatment for behavioral health needs, including:

  • Psych Emergency Services
  • Psych Inpatient Units - 60 bed unit
  • Consultation/Liaison Service
  • Outpatient Services inlcuding the Med Supervised Outpatient Program at Ida G. Israel Location
  • Med-Psych Clinic

Qualifications

  • Board Eligible or Certified in Psychiatry
  • Experience and training in the use of long acting psychotropic medication required
  • Experience with Assertive Community Treatment or Mobile Crisis Team preferred

  • Annual Base Salary Range: $236,900 (board eligible) - $247,200 (board certified)
