Overview

TRC is hiring a Distribution Engineer I. This position will be working within our Power Distribution engineer team and is a part of our growing Power Sector.

The Distribution Engineer I will be responsible for performing complex detailed design of underground electric distribution systems.


Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for performing complex detailed design of overhead and/or underground electric distribution systems.
  • This work includes the preparation of drawings and specifications.
  • Will perform detailed design work including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer.
  • Shall have a thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters in one or more of the following areas:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Instrumentation and Control
    • Protective Relaying
    • Transmission Design
    • Substation Design
    • Civil Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Distribution Engineering
    • iSurveying
    • GIS and Mapping
  • Shall perform with a minimum of supervision, a variety of design related duties including, but not limited to, the following:
    • Prepare manual or computer assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and a minimum of errors.
    • Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry and Company standards covering the assigned work.
    • Assist in the preparation of overhead and/or underground engineering calculations and analysis.
    • Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university required.
  • Ability to handle contacts with clients and other agencies in connection with project design responsibilities.
  • Ability to follow prescribed standards and procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership and technical capability to perform to job responsibilities.
  • EIT is Preferred or working towards earning EIT.
  • 0 - 2 years of underground and/or overhead distribution engineering experience. Experience working with SDG&E preferred.
  • Experience working in field and office preferred.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $59,000.00 - USD $66,000.00 /Yr.
