Hornblower Cruises & Events is in need of a Marine Mechanic/Engineer to service its New York fleet.

Position specific responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repair work
  • Maintain logs and follow up reports
  • Perform tasks independently with limited / no direction

Desired background:

  • Four year apprenticeship program or approved equivalent as a marine mechanic; US Coast Guard Machine Engineer License desired; not required
  • Familiarity with main propulsion and auxiliary machinery
  • Experience with operation and maintenance of marine propulsion equipment
  • Familiarity with hybrid technology
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
  • Physically demanding job requiring ability to stand, reach, bend, stoop and walk up and down stairs and on uneven/moving surfaces
  • Current driver license useful, but not required

Pre-employment background check and pre-employment and random drug testing required in accordance with Coast Guard regulations. Ability to obtain a Coast Guard MMD within 6 months of employment.
