Hornblower New York is seeking an Event Manager to join our New York City Team!

The Event Manager will supervise the Food & Beverage operations on the Hornblower vessels. Working closely with the Culinary Crew, F & B Director and Service Crew, the Event Manager ensures the guest's experience exceeds their expectations. The successful candidate will be a professional, energetic, self-motivated, team player with a strong customer service focus. This is a great opportunity for those interested in advancing their career in the hospitality industry. Day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are available. We are a quality hospitality organization that serves the public year round. Weekends and holidays may be required. A flexible schedule is a must.

Position specific responsibilities:

  • Assign, direct, supervise, train, and manage staff in their work duties
  • Move throughout the vessel to monitor and take corrective action to ensure food quality and service standards are met
  • Regularly review and evaluate the degree of customer satisfaction of the passengers
  • Resolve guest disputes
  • Responsible for all shift meetings & floor plan details
  • Ensure sanitation & safety standards and place order for inventory accordingly
  • Make schedule changes as necessary
  • Perform additional duties as directed by Director of F&B and Senior Management

Desired background:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Food & Beverage
  • Minimum of 1-year supervision/management of Food & Beverage staff
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspects, service techniques and guest interaction
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
