The role is part of the Automation CoE and is a global team based in the UK, Whippany & Pune. Our team is at the forefront of transformation, driving the automation agenda across Barclays, accountable for the delivery of Automation solutions across Barclays Group Technology ensuring efficiency of the delivery of automation initiatives, leveraging automation IP across group technology, driving the re-use of automations to improve consistency.
The overall purpose of the role to design, develop and implement automation solutions for Barclays Centre of Enablement. This includes automation solutions include eliminating manual and routine tasks from Incidents, Problems and Changes, building reporting and monitoring as well as integrations to other internal systems to drive self-help initiatives.
*Participate in projects that seek to automate ITIL processes, including but not limited to Incident, Change, Problem, Provisioning, Asset Management with the goal to automate manual effort, increase quality and resilience
*Develop new automation solutions using strategic engineering and development tools, languages and processes (IPCenter, Powershell, Python, C#, MS SQL, Elastic stack, ServiceNow)
*Provide operational support for legacy automations and tools
*Work with Engineering, Operations, Service Management, Transition, Transformation, GIS and other relevant Barclays technology and/or vendor teams to identify new automation opportunities, define specifications and identify solutions
*Gather requirements from product managers, service managers and operations engineers
*Work with other teams within GTIS to provide resilient, sustainable and scalable solutions
*Help validating the requirements to identify the most appropriate solution to meet the requestors' needs in an effective and efficient manner.
*Analyze working practices and come up with proactive/innovative solutions that benefit both the aligned and wider team
*BS degree in Software development/Engineering
*2 years' experience in software development, automation in infrastructure support organization
*2 years' development experience
*2 years' experience in C# and .NET, building and consuming APIs and Web Services, scripting languages (PowerShell, VBS), TSQL and Microsoft SQL Server
At least 1 year experience with 3 or more technologies from below:
*Medium understanding of Windows operating system
*Experience in automation of ITIL processes
*Experience with Python, Node.js
*Experience automating using orchestrator (e.g. IPCenter)
*Experience in administration/automation at least one from the list: Microsoft Exchange Server 2013/Online, Windows server, IIS, Skype 4 Business, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft SCCM, Active Directory/Azure AD
*Experience hosting on IIS
*Experience using AWS
*Understanding and working under Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
