 Location: Jamesburg, NJ

Pay: $25-30/hour

Other: Direct hire with competitive benefits and signing bonus of $2500

While reporting to the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, calibration, repair and/or replacement of electronic instrumentation and controls as well as electrical wiring, electrical and mechanical devices and other equipment normally found in an industrial plant environment. Experience with Fanuc or similar robots is a plus. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.

This position is in our Jamesburg, NJ plant

  • Complies with all plant safety requirements, as well as other policies and procedures. Participates fully in the plant safety program.
  • Uses all tools, materials, test equipment safely and efficiently. Is cognizant of personal safety and the safety of all others working in the vicinity.
  • Performs PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) control level diagnosis by monitoring PLC programs and installs, calibrates, troubleshoots, maintains and repairs major electronic, electrical and mechanical systems and peripheral devices per manufacturer's specification.
  • Reads complex electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, electrical wiring diagrams and shop drawings for the purpose of installation, troubleshooting and repairing of major systems and minor subsystems and components.
  • Troubleshoots and installs safety and motor starter control circuits.
  • Troubleshoots, installs, and calibrates various instruments, including ultrasonic level transmitters, flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, differential pressure transmitters.
  • Participates in SPS activities, is capable of performing R-3’s, zero failure analyses, incident follow-up, and root cause analysis.
  • Utilizes a wide range of test equipment, including analog and digital multi-meters, and other test equipment, while performing tests to identify problems and to maintain and calibrate equipment to performance standards.
  • Connects, disconnects, and tags out equipment and circuits for test or repair and safety of personnel and equipment.
  • Pulls and terminates cable for instrumentation installation and repair.
  • Installs electrical conduit and wiring for electrical circuits.
  • Performs electrical installations in compliance with the national electrical code.
  • Performs soldering on electronic components.
  • Performs mechanical repairs as required.
  • Performs preventive maintenance through inspection of electronic, electrical and mechanical systems, equipment and components.
  • Performs mechanical repairs to any plant system as required
  • Maintains shop and storage areas in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Cleans work area after work is complete.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of the organization.
  • May be assigned to work on special products.
  • It may be necessary for the employee to be called in to work in certain circumstances.
  • Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and 6 months work experience, or 3 years work experience in the Electronic, Electrical and Mechanical Technology area.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense. Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
