Position Summary

Sony Corporation of America (SCA) currently has an opening for Senior 3D Computer Graphics Software Engineer in our San Jose Lab located in San Jose, CA.

This position is responsible for developing novel CG software architecture and rapid proof-of-concept prototyping for multi-camera 3D capturing system for Sony's future business and services.

Responsibilities also include a close collaboration with Sony's professional entertainment creators as well as university collaborators to analyze and validate complex state-of-the-art internal/external algorithms of 3D modeling and visualization.

Finally, you will be responsible for invention disclosures, working with patent attorneys to secure intellectual property.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute novel CG software architecture and proof-of-concept prototyping for Next Gen. multi-camera capturing system.
  • Analyze and validate complex computer graphics software pipelines by closely collaborating with research scientist team, Sony internal customers and university collaborators.
  • Document all phases of R&D to transfer accumulated knowledge and expertise.
  • Oversee submission of intellectual property.

Qualifications

  • M.S. Degree in Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, or related scientific field, is required. Ph.D. is preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands on CG software engineering experience, preferably in the area of 3D modeling and/or physical simulation.
  • Familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine, Maya, or related graphic platforms is preferred.
  • Programming skills in C/C++, Matlab, Python are desired.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Research work and publications in related areas are preferred.
